Very easy solution. Raise the flooring by creating a framed platform on the ground. Make sure the floor frames around the room is level. Give some space between the drain. This way it does not look like the foam installation is too high up. When placing it flat on the surface afte you just raised the basement floor. Plus if anytime in the future it needs to be repaired you will always have access to it.

Didn't work on two new B&S 82V batteries that were not used for almost a year.

I thought when you jump start them It was only for a few seconds ,, Can it hurt if you leave them on longer, so what is the longest you can leave the jump starting for thanx ?

I tried this just today. Did not work. Not sure why, but still won’t charge after leaving it jumped for 5 minutes.

I just followed your example and used an 18 vdc battery to charge a 9.6 vdc SKIL cordless drill battery. The battery had not been used for about two years and showed not charge with my volt ohm meter. I touched the contacts for about 5 seconds, observed a spark and then check to see if the dead battery had a charge. My meter read 8+ volts after the brief contact! Then, I attached the charger which remained green (only one led on this charger). When I tried the charger before the procedure, the led light went out (but came back on when I detached the charger). If you don’t have the sump pump cover, can you just hook up the 10 foot hose directly to the dehumidifier and put the other end into the sump pump hole?

Funny I have the same Ryobi 18v battery. Garbage right? I used your hack, it worked well but battery barely was usable. Did you find the same? Any way you can recon the battery. Saw another guy use a small 2 terminal welding device to recon the battery. Know about this?

do the voltages need to match up? someone else said that mattered. I have 14v and 18v batts. 3 of each. i got sparks and a wire melted and smoked. hmmmm thats right, learn as much as possible. i say "a day without learning is a day wasted". learn anything no matter how insignificant it may seem

Can a 12V recharge an 18V?

after i disassemble my batt i notice from the circuit board connected to the inner housing that there is no sighn of connection from the board to the cells. no wires running underneath down to the cells or nothing...can you explain how it works that the cells takes a current if theres no connection from the terminals to the cells...this part has made me think someone else taken parts out of this batt before.

i have tried this on my 20v max batt ...first i left wires connected for few seconds ..still not able to charge...then left connected for 5 minutes. nothing.. then left them connected 10 mins. still nothing.. im thinking about trying a trickle charger setting it on lowest setting.

That was an old video. However, I'm curious as to whether or not the Dewalt batteries held a charge after they sat for a week or even a day? I can all but guarantee they didn't hold a charge for longer than a day because of the fact that they're nickel cadmium batteries for the older style, Dewalt battery I believe the first one you charged, which would definitely not hold a charge for longer than a day maybe an hour and then the second DeWalt battery was a nickel metal hydride style battery, which is better than the NiCad, but even those after maybe a week or so it wouldn't hold a charge once they drain down that far given the age of the batteries and the composition of each cell inside the battery. I had about 10 DeWalt batteries that were all at least 10 years old that all took a charge no problem. However the second I put it on a drill. I got about a 3 second maybe two minutes run time for each battery they're just not good batteries that were used then. Once lithium ion batteries became commercially viable meaning at least 1000 charge cycles, was when Dewalt Milwaukee etc all started using lithium ion battery cells in their corded tool brands. This is what catapulted the cordless tool industry into a mega power over the standard corded tools for every day do it yourself people. Good video though for those that are able to save their batteries could help some people but it won't work on every battery because we know batteries only have so much of a life 10 years is the average if you're lucky. I wonder if dead power tool battery re-charge problems are built-in by the manufacturers intentionally to sell more batteries? Have you ever had a dead one that absolutely would not re-charge no matter what you did? If so, what was your conclusion? What exactly does it do for you to hit your "Like" button?

If you're trying to teach somebody people how to do this and not blow up a battery or whatever you skipped a big junk junk in the middle you were talking about testing the old battery and a good battery and the next shot you have it camera upside down from what we were looking at

If your going to connect one battery to another DO IT OUTSIDE !. I did this and the battery started smoking and exploded. Just a word of caution.

And sometimes this happens because the battery has failed and forcing it to accept a charge is asking for it to catch fire/explode 😖😖

My wife's dewalt drill gun has one good battery and one bad battery, both work good right out of the charger but one of them will stay completely charged when not in use and the other one will be almost dead by same time next day just sitting after being charged. I'm sure this hack won't fix that.
